Edit PDF
Draw, highlight and add text to any page of a PDF and save the result — a lightweight markup editor that keeps your files on your device.
Mark up a PDF without installing heavyweight software: draw freehand, highlight passages and drop text notes onto the page, then save a new copy with your annotations in place. It is built for reviewing drafts, circling details on a form, sketching quick feedback and other everyday markups — not for rewriting the document's existing text.
How to use Edit PDF
- Open the PDF you want to annotate — pages render locally with a thumbnail strip for navigation.
- Pick a tool: pen for drawing, highlighter for marking passages, or text for typed notes.
- Click or drag on the page to place your marks; move between pages to annotate as much as you need.
- Save the document and download the annotated copy — the marks are drawn onto the exported pages.
Frequently asked questions
Does editing overwrite my original file?
No. Your original PDF is only read, never written. Everything you draw or type is written into a separate output file that you download, so you can always go back to the untouched original.
Can I change text that is already in the PDF?
No — this is a markup tool that adds ink on top of pages. To rewrite existing content, convert the document with PDF to Word, edit the text in your word processor, then convert it back with Word to PDF.
Can someone remove my annotations from the exported file?
Annotations are drawn onto the exported pages as part of the page image, so they cannot be accidentally moved or deleted in a viewer. They are a visual markup, though — for legally binding signatures or formal redaction, use the dedicated Sign PDF and Redact PDF tools.
